Longevity: Why testing genes, biomarkers & toxins mitigate disease and extend healthspan
About the session
The 2020s are the decade of data and personalisation. We know that the same intervention works differently for each of us, and what helps you may do little for your sibling or your parents. Yet most of us still ignore that information and keep following generic advice written for an average person who doesn't exist.
Chris Moore, founder and CEO of Nordic Laboratories, draws on 30 years in the field to look at what we can actually measure today. That spans genetics and the microbiome, immune and inflammatory markers such as suPAR, and toxin testing. Toxins, he argues, are one of the real drivers of poor health in the modern environment, and the job now is to find them, understand their impact and reduce it. He looks at which interventions are ready for clinical use, including apheresis, peptides and stem cells.
He also covers the foundations that decide how well any of this works: protein intake and amino acid status, fatty acid balance, and physical activity dosed to slow ageing without tipping into overtraining.
The aim is a clear line between what is clinically ready for healthspan today and what still needs more evidence.
Speaker
Chris MoorePersonalised health, functional medicine and longevity through data
Chris Moore is a health entrepreneur and founder of Nordic Group, with nearly 30 years’ experience in transforming the healthcare landscape. Based in Copenhagen, he is also listed as CEO of Nordic Laboratories, part of a group working across functional medicine, laboratory testing, genetic insights, practitioner support and clinical care.
At Copenhagen Health Week, Chris brings a founder’s perspective on the shift from reactive treatment towards more personalised, preventive health. His work speaks directly to the programme’s focus on longevity, functional medicine and better everyday decisions: using data, testing and nutritional insight to help people understand their own biology and take earlier, more informed action for long-term health.
