Functional Medicine Expert
Umahro is known as the Mastermind of Food, Nutrition and Health, and his motto is “Food and Lifestyle Can Change Your Life”.
Umahro is an internationally acclaimed Functional Medicine expert who has seen more than 13,000 patients in his clinic over the last 24 years, authored 13 bestselling books about health, nutrition, Functional Medicine and healthy cooking, hosted the popular TV-show “Kan man spise sig rask?”. He is a consultant to health- and biotech companies, medical labs, producers of food and food supplements, pharma, patient organisations, governments, NGOs and corporations; he is part of research groups looking at the role of diet and microbiome in neurodegenerative diseases and the role of nutrition, diet, exercise and lifestyle in ADHD. He lectures internationally (and unfortunately will not be with us Sunday, as he has to lecture on hormones, environmental toxins and health at a Functional Medicine conference in Prague on the 22nd).

Umahro’s journey into health and Functional Medicine started, when he developed inflammatory bowel disease, reactive arthritis and atypical MS at the age of 19, and had to cure himself with nutritional and lifestyle medicine back in the late 1990s.
