Anna Bjurstam

Founder Wahayla

Anna Bjurstam has spent 30+ years shaping the modern wellness industry — and with Wahayla, she's taking that work into its next chapter.

Wahayla, her new wellness and longevity company, takes its name from the words for power of the heart. It is the vehicle through which Anna intends to evolve wellness and longevity in the world — building on everything that came before, and pushing the field toward what comes next.

Her path has been anything but linear. In 1997, armed with a Master's in Finance and an unusual appetite for risk, she helped bring S.A.T.S. to Sweden and turned it into Scandinavia's leading fitness chain. In 2000 she became co-owner of Raison d'Être, and as sole owner from 2011 grew it into the consultancy behind more than 200 spas in 70 countries — shaping what luxury wellness looks like from Bhutan to the Bahamas. The company was acquired by Pegasus Capital Advisors, and later by IHG in 2019.

From 2013 to 2026, Anna was Wellness Pioneer at Six Senses, where she led the work that made it the world's leading hospitality group in wellness — a defining chapter of her career. Among many initiatives, she spearheaded the development of Six Senses Place, the brand's urban membership club. More than a decade at Six Senses proved her thesis that rigorous science and soulful hospitality aren't opposing forces but the same discipline. Wahayla is where that thesis goes next, advising hotel groups, fitness brands, and medical clinics who want to sell years, not just nights.

She is also co-founder of V Social Club (now AgebackCo), a longevity, hyperbaric, and biohacking lifestyle club, and co-founder of Rosebar Longevity. She has served on the Global Wellness Summit board since 2007 and personally invests in the founders and ideas she believes will define the next decade of the field.

What sets Anna apart is what she refuses to leave out. Three decades of Vipassana, Siddha Yoga, shamanic practice, plant medicine, and a BioGeometry diploma sit alongside a working fluency in longevity science, quantum physics, and business strategy. She is equally at home in a boardroom, on a keynote stage, or tending a fire ceremony — and she argues, persuasively, that the wellness industry's future depends on people who can move between all three.

ABOUT THE SESSION

Energy Medicine, the invisible medicine of longevity

4 OCT · Impact Stage · 14:40

We have become obsessed with measuring and optimizing our health, but what if the most powerful medicine is the medicine we cannot see? Anna Bjurstam explores energy medicine, spirituality and ancient healing wisdom, and how these invisible forces may influence our nervous system, our ability to heal and ultimately how well we age. This is not about choosing spirituality over science, but bringing the two back together.
