Precision Supplementation: Must-Know Principles for Practitioners in Today’s Supplement Landscape
About the session
In this session, Dr. Panzner pulls back the label on what supplements actually do once they're inside you. Every compound acts on far more than the one benefit printed on the bottle, and while the thing you bought it for may be working, something else it's doing can be quietly working against you. Stack several of these together, layer in your genetics and the medications you're already taking, and you get a web of interactions that decides whether that "healthy" stack helps you, does nothing, or slowly backfires. It's the part of the equation that flashy marketing and the TikTok-shop supplement world never mention.
Trained as a pharmacologist, Dr. Panzner spent years watching people build stacks on the same logic they'd use for a grocery list, until his work with over a thousand clients revealed how often the ingredients, the genetics, and the prescriptions were pulling in opposite directions. Drawing on pharmacology, genetic data, and the patterns he's seen play out in real people, he offers a framework for evaluating a stack the way a drug would be evaluated: by its full mechanism, in the context of the specific person taking it. His work sits at the intersection of genetics, pharmacology, mental health, and supplement science, and reaches a growing global audience through his content and education platforms.
This is a talk about the difference between a supplement that sounds right and one that's right for you, and about what changes once you stop taking labels at their word.
