SUNDAY 4 OCT
13:00 – 13:30
GLP-1 changed weight loss. Now what?
About the session
GLP-1 medications have transformed the conversation around weight loss and metabolic health. But medication is only one part of the picture.
In this fireside conversation, Sally Kallash and Kim Persson, author of Nozempic, explore what sustainable weight management looks like in the age of GLP-1s — from protecting muscle, bone health and nutritional status during treatment to the lifestyle strategies and alternatives that may help people improve metabolic health with or without medication.
What can we learn from the mechanisms that make GLP-1s so effective? Can nutrition, movement, sleep and other interventions influence some of the same biological pathways? Who might benefit from medication, what alternatives exist, and what happens when treatment stops?
A conversation that moves beyond the polarized “Ozempic or no Ozempic” debate to ask a more useful question: how do we create better metabolic health for the long term?

Speaker
Sally KhallashFounder, More than Health
Sally Khallash is a decision theorist and behavioural scientist, educated at Harvard and Oxford, and an author and lecturer in strategy and decision-making. Today, she brings that expertise into health and longevity, exploring how knowledge, behaviour and the choices we make shape our health over time.
As the founder of MoreThanHealth, she has built a community of more than 60,000 health-conscious people, helping them navigate their health with evidence-based insights and tools spanning functional medicine, nutrition and lifestyle.
At 47, Sally also brings lived experience to her work. After losing 40 kg and navigating her own thyroid and menopausal challenges, she combines scientific curiosity with personal experience to help others make better-informed choices about their health, energy and longevity.
Her forthcoming book explores skeletal muscle as the body’s largest endocrine organ and its fundamental role in healthy ageing, resilience and longevity.
