The nervous system: whats really running our biology
About the session
We talk a lot about optimizing our health – sleep, nutrition, hormones, movement, supplements and recovery. But underneath many of these sits a system we are only beginning to understand more deeply: the nervous system.
Our nervous system constantly reads and responds to the world around us. It influences how we handle stress and recover from it, but also how we sleep, digest, connect, perform and make decisions.
In this conversation, we’ll explore the nervous system as a foundational piece of understanding our biology. What actually happens when we become stuck in states of chronic activation or dysregulation? How does our physiological state shape the way we think, feel and respond? And why can two people exposed to the same pressure – or even the same health intervention – respond completely differently?
Rather than looking at stress as something we simply need to eliminate, we’ll explore how we can build greater capacity, flexibility and resilience within the nervous system – and why learning to understand and work with our own state may be one of the most overlooked foundations of long-term health and performance.

Boniface Verney-Carron
My name is Boniface Verney-Carron. I am an osteopath, acupuncturist, and body psychologist, specializing in the physical manifestations of emotional trauma and stress.
My interest in this field began more than 23 years ago through an in-depth study of the vagus nerve. That research led me to a deeper understanding of the profound connection between emotional wellbeing, neurological regulation, and overall health. Since then, my work has focused on helping people understand how emotional experiences can affect the body, and how restoring balance to the nervous system can support both physical and psychological healing. is Boniface Verney-Carron. Stress and burnout are some of the most talked-about challenges of our time. But the real conversation is not only about how to treat burnout once it happens—it’s about how to avoid it, manage it, and build resilience before we reach the breaking point.
Burnout rarely comes from one single trigger. It’s the accumulation of pressures in both professional and personal life—pressures that are increasingly hard to separate. The key lies in understanding how these dimensions are connected, and in equipping ourselves with the tools to balance modern life.
This talk explores how we can cultivate resilience—not by avoiding stress or change, but by learning to stand strong through it. It’s about building the inner and outer resources that allow us to navigate uncertainty, manage challenges, and thrive not only at work but in every aspect of life—so we can truly strive, keep performing, and stay healthy even in times of change and challenge.
